The goal of the partnership is to improve the next generation fraud management. Core of the co-operation is Subex' Nikira Fraud Management System which serves as the basis to develop and validate detection and mitigation of current and, most importantly, new fraud risks. Nikira is part of Subex's integrated suite of revenue maximization applications, forming the Revenue Operations Center (ROC) and will be deployed to detect fraud across its current and next generation fixed and mobile networks.
With the current and expected changes in market dynamics and the deployment of its next generation network, Swisscom realized that revenue protection would become an even more complex issue as new fraud patterns are expected to emerge. Therefore Swisscom's risk management department acted accordingly and used the opportunity of its organisational merger between the Fixline and the Mobile business to replace legacy fraud management by a converged real-time fraud management solution that can face future threads and further helps to leverage the synergies from the combined organization. The fraud management component of Subex's ROC - Nikira was the natural choice as it provided best breed functionality from an experienced and innovative vendor with the most installations from the industry.
