Subash Menon: Founder Chairman, Managing Director & CEO

Subash Menon founded Subex in 1992 and has been its CEO since inception. Under his stewardship, Subex has transformed from a Systems Integrator in the telecom hardware space to a leader in the telecom software space with a niche focus in revenue maximization. Subash charted Subex's growth from its humble origins as a one-man company to a global thought leader in the telecom software space with the successful launch of several products and with over 150 customers across 60+ countries in 6 continents. Subash also guided the company through a successful IPO in 1999 and through seven acquisitions. The latest one, that of Syndesis of Canada, was the largest overseas acquisition by an Indian company in the software space as on that day. Leading the internationalization of the company, Subash has played a key role in establishing offices in the US, Canada, UK, India, Singapore, China and Australia. Subash has over 20 years of experience in the areas of general management, sales and marketing. He has presented numerous papers on technology and business in various countries.

Key Achievement: Founding the company with a start up capital of Rupees Twenty Thousand in 1992, migrating to software space in 2000, and growing revenue from US $1.5 million in 2000 to US $83 million in 2007.

Subash was featured by the Economic Times, India’s leading business daily, under the category “Man of the Year” which was part of its 2006 year-end compilation of significant people and events.

A graduate in Electrical Engineering, he has held senior positions with companies like Controls & Switchgears Co. Ltd, and Eltel Industries, in the past.

 
Sudeesh Yezhuvath

Sudeesh Yezhuvath: Chief Operating Officer

Sudeesh Yezhuvath heads the overall operations of Subex, excluding the legal and financial functions. He heads all the three Business Units of the company – RMS (Revenue Maximization Solutions), FAS (Fulfillment and Assurance) and BT (British Telecom). He has been associated with Subex since 1993 and has been instrumental in building the software business of Subex. He has been closely involved in the company’s M&A activities, including the integration process post acquisitions.

Sudeesh has over 16 years of experience in the telecom field and has presented various papers on telecom and business operations in different parts of the world.

Sudeesh holds a B. Tech degree in Instrumentation and Control. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Subex.

 
Balaji Bhat

V. Balaji Bhat: Director

V. Balaji Bhat has served on our Board since 2000. He is a Chartered Accountant and practicing Management Consultant. He is also associated with various medium and large corporations in India as an advisor and director.

 
Vinod R Sethi

Vinod R Sethi: Director

Vinod Sethi is a graduate in Chemical Engineering and also holds a degree in B.Tech from IIT, Mumbai and an MBA in Finance from Stern School of Business, NY University. His earlier assignments include a stint with Morgan Stanley as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager of Morgan Stanley Asset Management managing over $2.4 billion of investments in India. He is also a director on the board of a number of other companies.

 
Harry Berry

Harry Berry: Director

Harry Berry has served on our Board since 2006. He is a partner at New Venture Partners LLC where he focuses on European investment opportunities and manages the operations of the United Kingdom-based team. He has 34 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining New Ventures Partners in 2003, Harry Berry has held a wide range of senior positions at BT (a company he joined in 1970) across sales, product management and development, and his responsibilities have included BT's product launch activities. In 2000, he created and co-founded, Brightstar, BT's corporate incubator. Harry Berry is also a non-executive director of two of BT's retail ventures: Click and Buy, and Home Computing. He received a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Manchester.

 
Andrew Garman

Andrew Garman: Director

Andrew Garman has served on our Board since 2006. He is a managing partner at New Venture Partners LLC where he focuses on the firm's software, services, networking and communications investment areas.

Garman joined Lucent's New Ventures Group in 1999. Before Lucent, he was a Managing Director of BT Ventures at Bankers Trust Company, where he created and managed a portfolio of internally generated corporate spin-outs in information technology. Prior to joining BT Ventures in 1996, Garman was the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Xerox's New Enterprise Group. At Xerox, he helped expand the firm's internal venture portfolio by developing eleven companies based upon technology innovations, primarily derived from the Xerox Palo Alto Research Centre. From 1985 to 1991, Garman was a general partner at CommTech International Inc., an incubator and venture capital firm with exclusive rights to commercialise the technology of SRI International, a non-profit research institution. He was formerly a director of AcuPrint, Amati Communications, Celiant, Certco, ColoRep, Document Forum, dpiX, InXight Software, Lucent Public Safety Systems (now Intrado), Placeware, Microwave Photonics, Vidus Ltd. and Visual Insights. Garman holds an AB in Engineering and Applied Physics from Harvard College, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar. He is a past president of the Stanford Business School Alumni Association and member of the Board of Advisers.
